The Journey of a Woman
An ardent follower of INDIA Uncut by Amit Varma, he recently wrote about a TED Talk.
I can just say hearing the talk was enough to move me.
The talk about sex slavery & human trafficking. Well lot of people come & tell- politicians, NGO activists give long lectures about this problem but this wasn't any social welfare person speaking. The story is about Sunita Krishnan or I may say the thousands of Sunitha Krishnan's. A victim herself at the age of 15 being gang raped by 8 people she didn't let the society victimize her instead she took an journey. A journey to change the perception of the people.
Rape & Trafficking into prostitution these words are common in the newspapers.
Imagine the pain & trauma a rape victim has to be bear and still the society treats her like an outcast. It makes her feel that she is not a part of it.
In Sunitha's words only its the civil society that victimizes a victim. We have come far ahead in the world , we claim to be advanced but here we are still so narrow minded that we treat a victim as 'The criminal'.
Here's the talk
The link to her organization & her interview, it is hearting to hear that she was asked to pay tax on donation as she refused to pay bribe to an IT officer.
I request all to pass this story on to at least two people as she asks for in the Talk.

The Flight of the Phoenix
After the dark hours of the fight
Victory seems nowhere in sight
Darkness is holding grasp on his breath
Truth is losing all his faith
The mystic bird then sings the song
That now propels him far along
Giving yourself to see a smile
Isn't it really worthwhile
The joy on the faces of people you care
Evil can no longer be able to scare
Death gives birth to a new life.
It is the joy of sacrifice
Darkness may now seem to win
But future is not so easily seen
Out of ashes arises a newborn soul
Has got even a bigger role.
After the Rise ...
There is a suprize
As long in the world the evil sticks
There will the flight of The Phoenix.

The Rise of the Phoenix
In my heart the story begins
A song of glory it sings
A living epitome of the truth
A plain depiction of joyful youth
He flew with the flash of light
The glorious white knight
He spanned the world with his wings
Brought fear to the mightiest kings
Out of blue came a blow
Shattered all his life's flow
The evil of darkness spun a mystic web
Caused the joy of life to ebb
Evil stabbed him with a knife
Dark Flames suffocated him out of life
Pain filled all over the sky
Calmness shattered by the cry
Evil rejoiced as he was gone
But he turned out to be quite wrong
The ring of fire has started to roll
Out of the ashes arises the newborn soul
A song of glory it sings
A living epitome of the truth
A plain depiction of joyful youth
He flew with the flash of light
The glorious white knight
He spanned the world with his wings
Brought fear to the mightiest kings
Out of blue came a blow
Shattered all his life's flow
The evil of darkness spun a mystic web
Caused the joy of life to ebb

Pain filled all over the sky
Calmness shattered by the cry
Evil rejoiced as he was gone
But he turned out to be quite wrong
The ring of fire has started to roll
Out of the ashes arises the newborn soul
The flames have reignited his spirit
Courage now fills his every bit
He is coming back to avenge his death
Will snatch the evil's breath
As long in the world the evil sticks
There will be the rise of The Phoenix.

Will snatch the evil's breath
